Look No. 444: Meet Belleza's Mesh Body Jake

Hello again my lovelies!

Two months ago, Belleza gave us a sneak peek at their mesh body for men. Well, guess what. I have it for you in this post. He's called Jake and he is absolutely gorgeous. Now I'm not going to give you a full blown review; I'd rather leave that to the mesh body expert, Daria Ather, when she reviews it on her Mesh Body Addicts blog. I'm just going to give you my personal thoughts on this body.

I'm really impressed with what Belleza did with this body. As you can see in the photo above, Belleza's Jake body has just the right amount of definition that gives him that athletic look. Personally, I despise body builder look of Aesthetic's Niramyth body. It's just ugly to me. So when I was looking for a mesh body for my man slave (aka: my male alt), I decided upon Slink's Physique Male Mesh Body. I wish I hadn't been in such a rush to buy my alt a body because I failed to look at Signature's Gianni body which is actually a lot nicer than Slink's body. The problem with Slink's body is that it's just a tad bit too thin at the waist line and the muscles aren't as defined as Signature's body. Belleza's Jake body, I think, beats out Signature's body. The muscular definition is a lot nicer giving him a very sexy athletic look and doesn't make you look like a body builder like Aesthetic's Niramyth body.

The Jake body does have Bento hands and is also compatible with Slink's Bento hands. I'm sure it will be compatible with Vista's Bento hands as I've worn my female body with my Vista hands but I do recommend trying on the demo if you have not purchased the hands yet. Just make sure you purchase the Omega HUD for Belleza's body.

The body's HUD works the same way as the one for the female bodies but with a few differences of course and it's quite simple to use. I've taken the explanation of the HUD directly from the body's instructions to give you a clear understanding of how it works and so I don't misinterpret anything.

SKIN TAB
This section is for choosing your Belleza skin tone, tinting skin/neck, adjusting skin materials, saving skin appliers, wearing neck sheath, stopping hand animation and changing body to fit Slink feet.

You have fourteen (14) Belleza skin tone options grouped in seven (7) Standard or Chest Hair options.  The skin tones from left to right are Fair, Pale, Medium, Sun-kissed, Tan, Deep Tan and Mocha. These are brand new skins for our Jake mesh body.  At this time, these are exclusive to the Belleza - Mesh Body.

The body is materials ready.  You adjust the slider from low (left) to high (right).  You can toggle skin effects  ON/OFF by clicking the "N" button for bumpiness (normal maps) or the Stars for glossiness and environment (specular maps).  The icon is bright when on and dim when off.   To see skin effects, you must have advanced lighting activated in your graphic settings.. Go to Avatar > Preferences > Graphics > General Tab > Look under "Shaders" and make sure "Atmospheric shaders" and "Advanced Lighting Model" are both checked.

The color picker allows you to tint your skin for a customizable look.  You can now tint your skin, neck, or your whole body.  It works like any standard color picker. Click the square next to the paintbrush. It will open the color picker. You can click anywhere in the rainbow section for the color and click the slider next to it to adjust intensity.  The Hue (H), Saturation (S) and Luminosity (L) section will automatically adjust based off of where you move the slider, but you can also fine tune the values by clicking the up or down arrows.  You will see your color selection appear in the window to the right.  If you wish to return to the default (White) window you need to click the Clear button.  You can save your favorite tint option by left-click hold over the tint window to save, then click the empty tint slot on the bottom row.  If you wish to clear a tint slot, left-click hold over the cleared tint window and then click the tint save slot you wish to clear and click it.

You can purchase skin appliers from other designers who've created skins for the Belleza Mesh Body or Omega appliers and save them to one of the seven (7) save slots.  Simply wear their applier and apply it to your mesh body.  Then select the blank slot you wish to save that skin to and a blue menu will appear.  Click "Save" and this tone will visually appear in that button slot. If you change skins and later wish to apply it again, you need to click that button and select "Apply".  If you wish to delete that skin from your save bank, click the button and  select "Delete".

The neck sheath is an additional mesh part that helps blend the seam of your mesh body to the SL Default Avatar and to Mesh heads.  You can hide/show it by selecting the button on the HUD.

The body is fitted with Bento mesh hands. Included is a default animation that you can turn on/off if needed. We recommend leaving on - all priority 4 animations will play over the default animation in our body.

For those that prefer to wear Slink feet instead of the Belleza Mesh Body feet, you can adjust your body with a click of the button to fit.  To make the legs fit to your Slink feet, click the Feet - SlinkFit button.  You'll then see the change in the calves and the disappearance of the Belleza feet.  At this point, you can add your Slink feet (NOT INCLUDED]. The SlinkFit will stay activated until you choose to return to the Belleza option.  To match your Slink parts to the Belleza body, please use the included  -Belleza- Jake Feet Slink Appliers HUD to select and apply the tone to your Slink parts.

ALPHA TAB
This section includes a mini-model of your body so you can choose to hide specific parts or sections of your body to fit inside your mesh clothing.  There are 198 alpha selections available. Click the desired part of the body you wish to hide on the HUD.  The area hidden will turn green. You can also hide/show complete sections by choosing one of the 12 quick buttons.  If you wish to show the full body again, click the reset button.  You can rotate the mini-model by clicking either the left or right arrow. If you wish to turn 180 degrees click the rotate button.

There are nine (9) slots to save your alpha configurations. Once you have selected your desired parts to hide, select the alpha save slot you wish to use and click.  A blue menu will appear for that slot, click "Save".  If you change outfits and later wish to apply that alpha configuration again, you need to click the corresponding save slot button and select "Apply".  If you wish to delete that alpha save slot configuration from your save bank, click the button and select "Delete".

In the developer's kit we have included an option for mesh creators to set their own alpha configurations for the Belleza Mesh Body.  The creator will add our script to their clothing and when you wear, the appropriate body sections will be hidden. You will see this visually on the alpha tab body.  If you wish to change what the designer has pre-set,  just click the sections you wish to hide or show.  If you wish to show the entire body again, click the reset button on the HUD.

NAILS TAB
This section allows you to change your nail tone, adjust materials, tint nails, and save nail polish.

There are ten (10) nail tone options. Select  the color you wish on the HUD for your fingers or toes and the nails on the mesh body will change to the color selected.

The nails are materials enabled.

The color picker allows you to tint your nails for a customizable look.

You can purchase nail appliers from other designers who've created nail polishes for the Belleza Mesh Body and save them to one of the nine (9) fingernail or toenail save slots.  Simply wear their applier and apply it to your mesh body.  Then select the "empty" button you wish to save that skin to and a blue menu will appear.  Click "Save" and this tone will visually appear in that button slot. If you change nail polish and later wish to apply it again, you need to click that button and select "Apply".  If you wish to delete that polish from your save bank, click the button and select "Delete".

LAYERS TAB
Use the Layers tab to wear body appliers on the clothing, underwear and tattoo layers, set Mask/Blend Mode, enable body layer materials, tint layers, remove appliers and refresh textures for your Belleza Mesh Body.
Our body works with appliers created specifically for Belleza and also works with Omega appliers.
Your body will also work with Omega appliers.  For more info on obtaining and installing Omega appliers, please join their group for support: Omega Applier Systems - Support -  secondlife:///app/group/276e12ea-52c3-008f-d6c9-31fc8bd2ba73/about

This section is organized based of the layer you wish to wear your body layer applier.  There are 3 layers over the body to layer from tattoo (closest to skin layer) to underwear (lays between tattoo and clothing layer) and clothing (sits on the outermost layer).  You can wear your appliers on your choice of Tattoo, Underwear, and/or Clothing layers.  Wear the applier you purchased and click it, a blue menu will appear asking you to "Select the layer to apply to:".  You then select the appropriate layer you wish the item to show.  Once selected it will show the layer on the body you are wearing and the HUD will indicate which layer is active with blue lettering.
You also have the option to hide/show the gloves and socks layers. If the gloves or socks are actively worn, you will see the buttons on the HUD highlighted in blue.
If you wish to create appliers for the Belleza Mesh Body, please visit the mainstore to pick up the applier kit.

The body layers are materials enabled.

Alpha glitches have been a common issue with all mesh bodies. It is caused by having alpha conflicts between two or more layers.  We have created a way to prevent the glitch by using Blend/Mask Mode.  The user selects which layer they wish to mask or blend.  You should use Blend Mode for layers with any transparency like tattoos.  Mask Mode is best with solid defined textures like jeans and shirts.  It is recommended you have at least TWO (2) Mask Modes selected and only ONE (1) Blend Mode activated at the same time.

The color picker allows you to tint each individual applier layer for a customizable look.

As anything in SL can be guilty of glitches based on a myriad of reasons, we've included buttons to refresh the texture on the body layers. This may help repair any visual glitch over the texture like greyness or blurriness due to rezzing. But you may need to toggle mask/blend mode, toggle body layers on and off, adjust your graphic settings, relog, clear cache, update your viewer, check your Internet connection, talk to applier creator, or ask for help.

By clicking this button, it clears all body layers you are wearing.  Once you've done this, you'll need to reapply any tattoos, underwear or clothing you wish to wear.  Utilize the Articles and Outfits tab if you wish to easily access your saved body layer appliers.

ARTICLES TAB
This page allows you to save individual body layers (Articles) worn on your Belleza - Mesh Body into your HUD.  You can then search through your saved articles by clicking either side of the body to scroll through your items and then applying your selection to the Belleza - Mesh Body.
It's important to note that the buttons on the article tab relate to the level of the layer on your body.  The _ is the Tattoo layer.  The - is the Underwear layer.  And the ﹌ is the Clothing layer.
To save the layer you are wearing on your upper body to the Articles tab on your HUD, click the Save | _ | button next to the upper torso window.  The item will then appear on the mini-model within the Wardrobe HUD in that assigned slot.  You can save up to twenty (20) articles in the upper window for upper body and twenty (20) articles in the lower window for the lower body.  Click either the Left or Right of the mini-model  to scroll through your saved slots.
To apply an article to your mesh body, select the item you wish to wear from any of your stored slots, then click the Apply button for the layer you wish to apply the article.  The article showing in the window (upper or lower) will then apply to your Belleza - Mesh Body.

If you wish to delete an article, select the item in the window you wish to remove from storage then click the Delete "X" button.

OUTFITS TAB
This page allows you to save outfits worn on your Belleza - Mesh Body into your HUD.  You can then search through your saved outfits by scrolling through the window and then applying your selection to the Belleza - Mesh Body.
To save the outfit you are wearing to the HUD, click the Save "≡" button.  The current outfit you are wearing on the Tattoo + Underwear + Clothing layer on your body will then appear on the mini-model within the  HUD in that assigned slot.  You can save up to six (6) complete outfits.  You can scroll through your saved slots by clicking either the Left or Right of the mini-model.
To apply an outfit from the HUD, choose the outfit you wish to wear from any of your stored slots, then click the Apply "≡" button.  The outfit showing in the  HUD will then apply to your Belleza - Mesh Body.

If you wish to delete a saved outfit, select the outfit you wish to remove from storage then click the Delete "X" button.

The exact release date is still unknown but since Belleza's bloggers got a copy of the body, I'm guessing within the next week or so. I highly recommend trying out the demo when it's released. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Until next time...happy shopping!
