There's a lot going on around the grid and so I have a lot to tell you. One of the most anticipated events, The Arcade, opened today and I have Exile Hair's exclusives at that event. Also, the September round of Buy Now opened today and Lumae released a beautiful new skin for that event. I'm back with another Genre exclusive but this time from Adoness. Breast cancer is one of the leading health crises for women and a very personal subject to me. 1 in 8 women, and a very increasing percentage of men, will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 8 years ago at the age of 32. Luckily for me, I was diagnosed in the very early stage and because of that, I'm here to talk about it with you and others. There is currently no known cure for breast cancer and, as you can see in my case, early diagnosis is critical to survival.
Models Giving Back is pleased to present Rock Your Rack, an annual fundraising event combining the best of SL Music, Art and Fashion to support the work of breast cancer charities and raise awareness for early detection which is critical to a positive outcome for this devastating disease.
This year's event will support the National Breast Cancer Foundation which provides free mammograms, education, support and early detection services to anyone in need.
The 2016 event involved 63 designers including Gold Sponsors: AlaFolie, Athena Couture, Dulce Secrets, Emerald Couture, Empyrean Forge, LaVian & Co, Phedora, Prism and Kultivate Magazine. In addition, this year's event will feature 2D and 3D artists for the first time with an Art show sponsored by Kultivate Magazine. Add to that the 4 Tribute concerts, 12 DJ Dance Parties, 7 Live Music Artist Shows, 9 Fashion Shows, the 10L Hunt, Silent Auctions, Art Auction and you have one must-visit event.
Designers will be providing exclusive creations with 100% of the sales of those items going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation along with a fine selection of the newest and most popular designs donating a percentage as well. The National Breast Cancer Foundation was founded in 1991 by breast cancer survivor, Janelle Hail. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1980 at the age of 34. At the time of her diagnosis, there was little information about the disease, and she was forced to make a decision about her health with few options. After her treatment, Janelle made a commitment to help women around the world by educating them about breast cancer and the importance of early detection. NBCF’s mission is to save lives through early detection and to provide mammograms for those in need. This mission includes increasing awareness through education, providing diagnostic breast care services for those in need, and providing nurturing support services.
